Position:  Cheer Coach

Location: Various

Department:  Athletics

Reports to: Athletic Director

FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt/Contract; hours vary

Job Summary: The Cheer Coach is a part time position.  The Head Cheer Coach will coordinate all aspects of the WGTC Spirit Program including student-athlete development, home and away game involvement coordination, practices, inventory management and recruiting. Specific areas of responsibility include: practice, event, preparation, support staff supervision; recruitment of prospective student-athletes; monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes; preparation and oversight of budget; coordination of spirit program community outreach; program specific and departmental fundraising; and other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.

Job Goals: To provide leadership in helping each participating student - athlete to achieve a high level of skill and an appreciation for the value of sportsmanship.

Education or Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

         A diploma or associate degree from an accredited private or public postsecondary institution

         Three (3) years of cheer coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

         A bachelor’s degree from an accredited private or public postsecondary institution

         Five (5) years of experience coaching cheerleading at an accredited private or public high school *or* at an accredited private or public college/university/cheer program.
